Celebrating World Book Day with Foundation ambassador, Ethan Waller

This week, we are excited to celebrate World Book Day and are thrilled to collaborate with our ambassador, Ethan Waller, to inspire children to develop a love for reading.

As part of the celebration, Ethan has selected two special books to read aloud, which we are delighted to share with you.

The first 'I Am Brave' is a beautifully illustrated picture book that highlights the many ways children demonstrate bravery in their everyday lives and the second, 'Together We Can' emphasise kindness, compassion, and the power of togetherness.

In addition to this year’s selections, we also wanted to highlight two books that Ethan read for us last year, Harry Potter and A Squash and a Squeeze.

Alongside our World Book Day celebrations, we are excited to introduce our Rugby Reading Champions programme, a unique initiative designed to create both rugby and reading champions in schools.

The five or ten week programme is ideally for key stage two students which encourages positive discussions, idea-sharing, and essential reading skills through engaging rugby-themed texts. Take a look at our week two delivery here.

Each session explores students’ reading journeys while enhancing key literacy skills using our Champion approach, which helps them analyse texts critically, identify key elements, and think deeply. Our education staff deliver interactive lessons that incorporate rugby’s six core values, making the learning process both meaningful and enjoyable.

We are currently offering a 50% discount for eligible schools. If you’d like to see if your school qualifies or want to learn more, please get in touch.
