Saints inside programme incorporates both Northampton Saints Foundation and rugby’s own core values to address reoffending in UK prisons. It integrates classroom learning with physical activities to support inmates in developing skills and confidence, reducing criminal behaviour, and enhancing their prospects post-release.
At Northampton Saints Foundation we believe education and training in prisons play a key role in improving the mental health and the employability of individuals upon release. Saints Inside gives learners the opportunity to increase their confidence, become productive and learn new skills to reduce criminality, isolation and help change their lives for the better.
Saints Inside operates on a 12-week schedule and includes a range of activities such as rugby sessions, classroom-based value lessons, CV writing, interview skills workshops, diet and nutrition guidance, strength and conditioning training, team-building exercises, and the opportunity to earn a level two gym instructor qualification. Additionally, participants benefit from visits by industry professionals and motivational speakers.
Since the programme launched, the Foundation have worked with over 120 participants.

"He was so happy and it has given him such a positive boost to now get his category D and finish his sentence. I can’t thank you enough for what you have done for him as it has often been a rocky road in prison and what many people don’t realise is that family are taken on this journey too and things like this where people like yourselves take time to help people are just so fantastic".
