Northampton Saints Foundation are pleased to announce its two Milton Keynes hubs, which support young people on the Engage programme, have relocated to Glebe Farm school.
Moving to Glebe Farm school, which opened in September 2022, means young people on the Engage programme will have exclusive access and independent space providing a welcoming, non-academic, stimulating environment providing an excellent opportunity to determine their positive pathway.
As a result of the move Foundation’s Engage hubs, which used to operate from Top Jump and Bletchley Rugby Club, will merge at the new premises.
During a maximum of 15 hours per week, young people who are disengaged from education, visit one of our five hubs across Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes and Ipswich to take part in a wide range of social and emotional development opportunities alongside physical activities to improve their confidence, self-esteem and communication skills, giving them the tools, they need to break down the barriers they are facing and tackle life’s challenges.
Since opening, the Milton Keynes hubs alone have supported over 30, young people aged 10-16, with one hub exclusively working with the NHS to support young people who access their Children and Adolescents Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and could be either at risk of admission into a tier 4 residential unit or need additional support with their mental health.
Jordan Letts, Social Inclusion Lead and Head of Foundation for Northampton Saints Foundation’s Milton Keynes hub said “Staff and young people on the programme are excited about the move to Glebe Farm. The school provides more space, but also means we can accept more referrals onto the Engage programme helping more young people to regain control of their academic pathway. We will continue to transport our young people off site to other activities, but will also have access to brand new sports, music and cooking facilities”.
The school which opened in September 2022 delivers an exceptional 21st century, comprehensive and universal all-through learning experience that will unlock every individual’s potential. “We are really excited at Glebe Farm school and Inspiring Futures through Learning Trust to be partnering with Northampton Saints Foundation and having them base themselves at our school.” said Matthew Shotton, Head Teacher at Glebe Farm “I have seen the long term impacts the foundation has had on so many young people and I welcome the opportunity to work with likeminded leaders who want to provide the very best support, guidance and life experiences for the young people of Milton Keynes.”
