Northampton Saints Community and Northampton Saints Foundation have joined forces to launch a 12-week weight management and wellbeing programme that starts next month.
Building on from the success of Shred7s over the past four years, CHAMPS (Champions Health and Mindset Programme) is free-to-attend thanks to Sport England’s Movement Fund and gets underway on Thursday 10 October.
CHAMPS combines physical activity, led by the Saints Community team under the guidance of a qualified level 3 personal trainer, and the mental wellbeing sessions, led by a fully qualified counsellor from Northampton Saints Foundation to support the local community in improving their physical and mental wellbeing.
Support will be given on the benefits of physical activity, making healthy food choices, wellbeing and a positive mindset, and looks at the correlation of mental and physical health and how it affects our weight.
The programme aims to give participants all the tools they will need to manage their weight-loss process and to achieve success with a positive mindset.
CHAMPS will target people with a calculated BMI of 23 and above. If you do not currently have a BMI of over 23 please email Jamie Higgins to discuss your participation.
To ensure that participants are given the best support from the delivery team on the programme, each 12-week course is limited to 30 participants.
Sessions will be held each Thursday from 6pm until 8pm at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens, with an hour’s education and support followed by a physical activity session at 7pm.
